About Me

By age 5, Sasha Hibbs' favorite movie was Gone With the Wind. By age 12, she completed her 7th grade book report on the sequel, Scarlett. By 18, she met and married her very own Mr. Rhett Butler and as it turns out, she never had to worry about going back to Tara to win the love of her life back. Fortunately, he stuck with her.
With a love of all things paranormal, the ambiance of the South with its gigantic antebellum mansions and canopies of Spanish moss, and a love for her husband’s rich storytelling of blacksmiths and the mythology surrounding their origins, it wasn’t long until the world of her debut novel, Black Amaranth, was born.
When not working her day job as a nurse, you can find Sasha dreaming of her next beach trip, reading the latest YA novel, and drinking more white chocolate mocha than she should.
Sasha lives in mountainous West Virginia with her husband, Tim, and their two daughters, Aeliza and Ava. She is currently hard at work on her next novel.

Okay...switch over to "me" mode.
10 random facts about me:
1.) I'm not kidding when I say I love the beach. If I could live there (hurricane free) I would, particularly the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
2.) I'm a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric services. It's tough work, long hours and not for the fainthearted. My job can be rewarding at times and when it's not, well...writing always provides a nice outlet!
3.) My favorite TV shows include: True Blood, Once Upon A Time, and Revenge.
4.) My favorite novel of all time is Jane Eyre. I read it at least twice a year.
5.) I like nice people. I'd like to think of myself as a nice person and tend to navigate toward others that are nice. I like to extend the olive branch. I like to "fix" things...kind of like Tinker Bell without the awesome skills (I couldn't change a flat tire to save my life). But more like "nurse mode"....if you can help someone who needs the help, do it!
6.) I love coffee. Gevalia is my favorite and I love Starbucks, too. Especially their white chocolate mocha.
7.) I wear too much black. I wish I could say I was aiming for the whole "Johnny Cash" persona, or I'm-so-mysterious-broken-inside-you-normal-people-will-never-get-me gimmick, but the sad truth is I don't wash clothes the way my mother raised me. Yes, go ahead and cringe you Tide-Stain-Out lovers, but I mix all my clothes together, add a little detergent and water and I'm satisfied. What I've learned though, is by not separating clothes and taking the time to try and get stains out...you end up with horrible looking clothes. So my solution was to buy everything black!
8.) I'm scared of these things: driving over mountains, flying (to date, I've never been on a plane), rats, and riding horses (I've been thrown off too many times or have had the pleasure of riding a horse that got spooked).
9.) Someday I hope to get over the "flying fear" and travel to New Zealand. Peter Jackson really sold it to me. And plus, I wouldn't mind turning into a Hobbit.
10.) Years ago, I made a bucket list. Don't ask why in my early twenties I would be concerned with that but it was as follows:
  • Go to college
  • Write a best-selling series
  • Learn to speak Spanish
So...I've completed the first one, I've written a series, not necessarily "best-selling" but hey, you try to get published, it was painful, and now I have to learn to speak Spanish.

I think after I successfully complete the above list, I'll create another. It's always good to challenge yourself!
